Transferring your domain to a new registrar can be a smart move, especially if you’re looking for lower costs, simpler management, and a smoother overall experience. We’ll show you step by step how to transfer your domain safely and efficiently. By following these instructions, you can ensure a smooth domain transfer while keeping your website secure, fully operational, and online throughout the process. Domain transfers can seem daunting at first, but with the right guidance, the process is straightforward and can be completed without any interruptions to your website.
Step 1: Prepare your Domain for Transfer
Before you start the transfer, make sure your domain is ready. This involves unlocking your domain at your current registrar and obtaining the authorization code or EPP code. Most registrars will provide this code via email or in your account dashboard.
Step 2: Access Your Gatehills Account
Once your domain is prepared, log in to your Gatehills account using your credentials. If you don’t have an account, creating one is quick and straightforward. Once you're logged in, navigate to the Transfer a Domain section.
Step 3: Enter Your Domain Information
Enter the domain name you want to transfer and select the appropriate domain extension (TLD) from the dropdown menu. Review the information carefully to ensure everything is correct, then click Confirm Domain to continue.

Step 4: Enter the Authorization (EPP) Code
Be sure to enter the code exactly as provided. An incorrect or invalid authorization code will prevent the transfer from proceeding. After entering the code, click Continue.

Step 5: Provide your Contact and Payment Information
The third panel requires your contact information and payment details. Input all required information accurately and confirm your transfer. Once this step is complete, your domain transfer to Gatehills will be officially initiated.
Step 6: Monitor Your Domain Status
You can monitor the progress of your domain transfer from the Domain Overview section of your Gatehills Dashboard. The dashboard provides real-time status updates and will notify you if any additional action is required to complete the transfer.
Transfer Fees
Transfers for .ae domains are free of charge. For all other TLDs, a transfer fee applies. This fee includes a one-year renewal of your domain registration, which is added to your existing registration period.
