Domain Transfer Eligibility

1 min. readlast update: 02.26.2026

When it comes to domain transfers, the eligibility period can vary depending on the domain extension.

In accordance with registry regulations, .com domains are subject to a 60-day transfer restriction from the date of registration. Transfers to another registrar are not permitted during this period. ICANN created this rule to stop domains from being transferred without permission, and it covers most generic top-level domains (gTLDs)

On the other hand, .ae domains don’t have a 60-day transfer lock. You may initiate a transfer at any time, provided the domain remains within its active registration period and meets the applicable transfer requirements.
