How to Set-Up Two-Factor Authentication

Passwords can be stolen, guessed, or leaked but Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) helps stop attackers from accessing your accounts. By requiring both your password and a second verification method, Two-Factor Authentication greatly improves your online security. Follow this guide to learn how to enable and use Two-Factor Authentication to better protect your digital accounts.

This feature is currently available only to users who manually created their accounts. Users who signed up with Google or UAE Pass are not eligible because these sign-in methods use built-in security measures that provide similar or stronger protection.

Step 1: Log in to Your GateHills Dashboard

Start by signing in to your GateHills account using your email and password.

Step 2: Open Your Account Menu

Once you’re logged in, click the user icon in the upper-right corner of the page.

Step 3: Go to Security Setting

From the dropdown menu, select Security Settings to access your account protection options.

Step 4: Start the 2FA Setup

Under the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) section, click Set Up Now to begin the activation process.

Step 5: Open Google Authenticator

Launch the Google Authenticator app on your mobile device. If you don’t have the app installed, download it from the App Store or Google Play Store.

Step 6: Scan the QR Code

Using the Google Authenticator app, scan the QR code displayed on your GateHills screen. This securely connects your account to the authenticator app.

Step 7: Verify Your Password

Enter your GateHills account password to confirm your identity and continue the setup.

Step 8: Enter the Verification Code

The Google Authenticator app will generate a 6-digit code. Type this code into the verification field on the GateHills dashboard.

Step 9: Complete the Setup

Click Save to finish setting up Two-Factor Authentication.

That's it! Your GateHills account is now protected with Two-Factor Authentication. Every login will require a verification code from your Google Authenticator app, helping keep your account safe even if your password is compromised.
