If you find that your SSL certificate is nearing its expiration date, it's crucial to take action promptly to ensure your website remains secure. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to manage and renew your SSL certificate using cPanel.

Accessing CPanel

  • Log into your Hosting Account:
Start by accessing your hosting account. This is typically done through your hosting provider's website. This will route you to CPanel.

  • Navigate to CPanel:
In the CPanel dashboard, locate the "SSL/TLS" option. This section allows you to manage your SSL certificates. Then click on “Manage SSL Sites”.

  • Uninstall the Expiring Certificate:
If you need to remove the expiring certificate, find the domain in question and click on the uninstall option.

Renewing Your SSL Certificate

  • Select the Domain:
In the SSL/TLS section, look for the dropdown menu under ‘DOMAIN’. Click on it to select the domain for which you want to renew the SSL certificate (e.g., yourdomain.ae).

After selecting the domain, click on the “Autofill by Domain” button located on the right side. This will automatically fill in the necessary fields for the SSL certificate.

  • Install Certificate:
Finally, click on the ‘Install Certificate’ button to complete the renewal process.

Verify Installation

After installing the new SSL certificate, it’s essential to verify that it has been successfully installed. You can do this by visiting your website and checking for the padlock icon in the address bar, which indicates that the SSL certificate is active and your site is secure.

By following these steps, you can ensure that your SSL certificate is renewed without any downtime, keeping your website secure for your visitors.
